1. Bunko always begins at 6:00 p.m. on the 2nd Thursday of every month. If a hostess cannot hold the game on the 2nd Thursday of her assigned month, she should notify the group and set a different date as soon as possible, in order to give members enough time to plan schedules and find a substitute if necessary.
2. At the end of each game, the NEXT month's hostess should collect $10 dues from each player to be used towards the prizes for the next game. If a member forgets to bring money, she should get it to the hostess within one week, so that the hostess has all of the money in plenty of time to purchase the prizes before the game. The next month's hostess should also take home the Bunko bag with the game bell and dice.

The hostess will provide a meal, table snacks, pencils, score-cards, and prizes for the other players. The hostess should use all of the monthly dues ($10/player= $120 total) to purchase the prizes for the game. There should be 1-$25 prize for Most Bunkoes, 2-$20 prizes for High Score and Low Score, 2-$10 prizes for Most Zeroes and Travel, and 7-$5 prizes for everyone else. The hostess should also send out a reminder about the upcoming game, a few days in advance, along with directions to her house.If she is going to host outside, she should let members know so that they can bring a jacket or sunglasses.

If a member has to miss a game, it is her responsibility to find a substitute. She should first notify the hostess of the game to be missed, to see if the hostess has any house guests, neighbors, or friends to take the spot. If the hostess doesn't have anyone, the member must find a sub herself. To do this, she may send a friend as a
replacement, e-mail other members and ask if anyone wants to bring a
friend, or contact someone on our sub list under the "Members" tab on the blog. If a member e-mails the group asking for a sub, and multiple members
find a sub, the spot will go to whomever replies to the group e-mail
first. Because of this, you may want to tell the friends you invite to
sub that you will have to confirm whether the spot is still available. If a
member knows in advance that she will have a guest that she would like
to bring to Bunko, she may e-mail the group right away letting everyone
know, so that if a sub is needed and the hostess doesn't have a guest
herself, the other member's guest can take the spot.
The substitute gets to keep whatever prize she wins at the game, and she should pay the $10 for the absent member to participate in the next game. If the sub doesn't show up or no sub is found, the absent member is still responsible for paying the $10 for the next game and should get that money to the next month's hostess within a week of the missed game. In this case, the member should get one of the $5 prizes from the game that she missed.

The hostess of the next game should still purchase $120 worth of prizes, and she will get the missing money from the new replacement member. When a new member joins the group, she will pay $20 the night of her first game: $10 to go to the hostess of the current night's game for the prizes that night and $10 to the next month's hostess for the next game. In the event that we do not find a replacement member, but someone fills that spot just for one night, that person should pay the hostess of that night, rather than next month's hostess.
